At Minnesota Lakes Bank, there is a lot that happens behind the scenes to make the lending process run smoothly. Senior Loan Processor, Jessica Griffel plays an important role in keeping those day-to-day loan operations moving forward.
Jessica handles a variety of loan operations, including preparing and imaging documents, uploading loans into the core system, processing loan maintenance, and managing collateral releases. While the responsibilities may be similar from day to day, Jessica says no two days are ever quite the same.
“I really like my coworkers here. Everyone is really nice, and we work as a team,” Jessica says. “I also like that every day is different. There’s always something new to learn or tackle.”
Jessica began her banking career shortly after graduating from Winona State University, where she studied business administration. Starting as a loan processor, she gained hands-on experience in all aspects of loan operations throughout her banking career. More than a decade later, she brought that expertise to Minnesota Lakes Bank.
One of the challenges Jessica enjoys navigating is making sure everything is completed accurately and in compliance with changing rules and regulations. Sometimes that means taking another look at a process or making adjustments to meet both compliance requirements and a customer’s needs. For Jessica, finding a solution that works for everyone is part of what makes the job rewarding.
Outside of work, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family and getting creative. She likes baking, tackling DIY projects, and, more recently, building LEGO sets with her family.
“It’s kind of therapeutic,” she says of building LEGO sets. “It’s a fun way to slow down, unwind, and clear my mind.”
Jessica grew up in Bloomington and now lives in Shorewood with her husband, their three children, and their dog. Her family keeps her busy with plenty of activities, including skating, synchronized skating competitions, hockey cheer, and club swimming.
Between her career in banking and a busy family life, Jessica brings a wealth of experience, a willingness to keep learning, and a team-focused attitude to Minnesota Lakes Bank. We’re grateful to have her as part of the MNLB team!
